My Favorite Summer Tea

Even though we’re still in the depths of summer here in California, I have been drinking hot tea. And my current favorite is the vibrant magenta hibiscus tea.

I enjoy drinking it hot/warm with dinner, but I have made it into an iced tea before (sometimes with ginger) and it tastes really nice chilled as well.

I use Traditional Medicinals Hibiscus Tea, which contains hibiscus flower, blackberry leaf and lemongrass leaf.

I steep two bags for at least 20 minutes in about 6oz of water, and I don’t add any sweetener to it as the tart fruity flavor is plenty for my palate.

I can’t really define why, but even hot/warm it tastes like the essence of summer to me. Maybe it’s the berry-ish flavor, or the brilliant hue, but either way I am currently loving it. ~~~
